Move all cards to the four foundations. There are four foundations. An Ace may move to an empty foundation. The foundations build up by the same suit. The word Yukon comes from the native Athapaskan word "Yu-kun-ah" meaning great river. The river is kilometres long and you can canoe 2, miles from Whitehorse to the Bering Strait.

The entire territory has , caribou, 50, moose, 25, mountain sheep, 10, black bears, grizzlies and wolves. And not forgetting the 70 trillion mosquitoes and black flies buzzing around. Yukon solitaire has one deck of cards layed out in seven tableau columns along with four foundation spaces, which start off empty.

You can move multiple face up cards from one column to another even if the group is not in sequence, just as long as the first card you are moving forms a descending sequence and is an alternate color of the card it is moved onto. For example, a black 5 could have a Jack and a 7 on it. This group could be moved to a red 6. The game is won when the cards are stacked on the foundations, in ascending order from Ace to King.

There are 7 Columns. Each Column is dealt one more face down card than the previous Column starting with 0 face down in the first column. Columns two through seven are then dealt 6 more cards each face up. The same holds true for the other suits. For example, a red 6 may be placed on a black 7. Any number of face up cards may be moved to another Column provided that the above build rule is followed. It does not matter whether the cards being moved are already in sequence or not.

For example, a red 6 may have a King and a 2 on it. Those three cards may be moved to a black 7.
